The Brown Journal of World Affairs is currently recruiting undergraduates for the preparation of our upcoming Fall/Winter 2024 issue. Founded in 1993, the Journal, a student-run academic publication,
provides a forum for world leaders, policymakers, and prominent academics. Each issue examines international topics and is circulated widely in the United States and abroad.
We are seeking undergraduates, from freshman to seniors, of any concentration, who are interested in taking part in the publication. All new staff members join as Associate Editors and are responsible for soliciting, editing, and layout. Additionally, they may undertake interviewing assignments or other roles at the Journal. Prior experience is not necessary—training will be mandatory for all incoming staff.
The Journal is an excellent opportunity to interact with public intellectuals and examine their work in a way that is completely different from any other organization on campus. We encourage all who have an
interest in editing, current events, and international issues to apply.
Please keep answers brief. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, with an absolute deadline of Thursday, September 12th by 11:59pm EST. Send your completed application questions, your writing sample, and your editing sample attached in one email to bjwa@brown.edu. Questions are welcomed and should be addressed to bjwa@brown.edu.
